What We Extract: From the relevant messages, we extract
only:
- Transaction amount.
- Merchant name or description.
- Transaction date.
c. Aggregated Spending Data
- After extracting transactional data, we calculate your total spending on specific items or
categories.
- This aggregated data (e.g., total debit amount for a category) is stored securely in Firebase
Firestore to enable syncing across devices.
d. Device Information
We may collect non-sensitive device information such as:
- Device type, operating system, and app version.
- Crash logs and analytics to improve app performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely for the purposes of providing and improving the core
functionalities of the BankAL app:
a. Authentication Data
- To create and manage your account.
- To enable secure login and account recovery.
b. SMS Data
- To analyze your transactional SMS messages and identify spending data.
- To calculate and display your daily, monthly, and category-specific expenses.
c. Aggregated Spending Data
- To allow you to view your total spending history.

a. Firebase Firestore (Data Storage)
- Authentication data (name and email) and aggregated spending data (e.g., total debit amounts per
category) are securely stored in Firebase Firestore, a third-party database service provided by
Google.
- Firebase acts as a service provider and complies with industry standards for data security.

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal
requests from public authorities.

We take the security of your data seriously.
- Encryption: All data sent to Firebase Firestore is encrypted in
transit using HTTPS and at rest using Google's encryption protocols.

- Authentication data (e.g., name and email) is retained as long as your account remains active. If
you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently deleted.
- SMS messages are processed locally on your device and are not stored.
- Aggregated spending data is retained in Firebase Firestore for as long as your account remains
active.
